2010 – Year Of The Family

Like every year, 2010 has had its share of ups and downs.

It has been a good year though, and the low points were just minor hurdles to clear.

The year started with some uncertainty and doubt, but is ending with great clarity.  I have learned that I have far more strength than I ever realized, but I still can’t conquer the world on my own.  I have learned through some of the choices I have had to make, that my family is, and will always be the most important thing in my life.

The above picture was taken on our summer vacation.  We were at the Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick.  It was one of the most challenging days of our trip.  Connor was going insane because the rocks and pebbles on the ocean floor were killing him.  Owen was crying and upset for most of the day because Rob and I were annoyed with their behaviour.  Rob and I were fit to be tied.

Still, we pulled it all together.  Although we know the challenges we faced that day, we try to remember the great things.  Sea snails, hermit crabs, the smell of the air and the unbelievably silkiness of the ocean mud between your toes.

Together we were a family.  Frustrated and annoyed, but a family.

 2010 was all about family.
